netball is a game with about 7 people or soemhting, i can't remember how manye xactly and you try to throw the ball into the oppositions net, it is like basketball with more restirctions on where you can go and who can shoot etc

its a sport mainly girls play it like basketball but you dont bounce it and when you recieve the ball you cant move unless your throwing to one of ur teammates or in the net which is just on a pole quite tall and a bit smaller than a basketball hoop

It is a game normally played by girls and at school. The aime is to shoot the ball into the hoop. There are 7 people in a team not counting reserves. Hope you find this helps you, Hannah

Netball is a largely women's sport similar to basketball, quite popular in Commonwealth countries. I remember my sister used to play it in primary school in Australia and my mom also used to play it in school in Sri Lanka. It's different from basketball in many ways, including play zones, positions and rules such as no dribbling and no moving with the ball in position. Because of the latter rule, I think there is quite a lot of team strategy and manouevering involved. The following link has more information on the history and rules. Hope this helps. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netball

Aaaaahhhh netball, is their anything I couldn't tell you about it.... Yes i am a lad, and netball is a girl's sport, but a) we ahd to study it at school, b) If its a sport i'll play it and c) sporty girls in short skirts :P. So basically its a version of basketball. There are seven players, each of which has an allocated area in which they have to stay. The idea is that you ahve to pass the ball (you can't move with the ball) to the Goal Attack or Goal Shooter (the two attacking positions) who can shoot the ball into the ring (a big net on a stick, like basketball, but without a back-board). That is basically it. The positions, incase you wanted to reel a few off to sound like you know what you are talking about, are : Goal Keeper, Goal Defense. These two are the two main defensive players Wing defense, centre, wing attack, These are more like the midfield. Goal attack, Goal shooter. The people who score the goals. So that's basically it. Oh and its a non-contact sport, something I kept getting called up on - no body checks or rugby tackles hahaha hope this helps! x

On a netball team there is 7 players on court, but there is usually 2 or more subs. This is the basic information of what netball is. The game is played on a court that is slightly larger then a basket ball court. It is divided up into 3 thirds, with a semicircle in the two goal third around a net. In the center third, there is a small circle (not sure of the dimensions) that the center stands in at each center pass. A few rules are: It is a no contact sport, when you are defending a player that is throwing the ball, you have to stand 3 feet away (0.9 meters). On a center pass, the first pass has to be caught in the center third. The uniforms are: For girls - netball skirt and a sports t-shirt (depending where they play, the club will decide what they look like); a netball dress, again the club decides what they look like; shorts and a sport top (club decide what they look like) but the shorts option is very uncommen. For men - shorts and a sport top, club decides what they look like. The positions are: GK (Goal Keeper): The GK has to defend the GS to stop them from getting the ball and they have to defend the GS when they are taking a shot at goal. They have to try to get the rebounds and when it is their teams free pass or throw in, they should automatically get the ball. The goal keeper is allowd in the other teams goal third (the third that the other team is shooting into) and is allowed in their goal circle. They are not allowed anywhere else on the court. GD (Goal Defence) : GD does much the same thing as GK does, but the GD defends the GA. The have to defend their player on the center pass aswell. If it is their teams free pass in the center third, they should automatically pick it up. The GD is also able to get their teams center pass. The GD is allowed to go everywhere that the GK can and they are also able to go in the center third. WD (Wing Defence): The WD's main job is to stop their player from getting the center pass. They have do defend the other teams WA. They have to try to intercept the other teams center pass and they are able to get their teams center pass. When it is there teams throw in, they have to try to get the pass from the GK if it is in the other teams goal third, and they should be there to be able to get the pass if they have to but they should try to leave it to the attackers if their team gets a free pass in the center third. They are allowed in the other teams goal third and the center third. They are not allowed in the goal circle though. C (Center): Centers main job is to pass the ball effectively to one of their teams players when it is there center pass. They have to defend the other teams center and on the other teams center pass, they have the choice of defending the other teams WA or GA or they can defend their center. They have to be there for their teams goaler to throw to if they are too far out from the circle. They also have to be avalable to get the pass from their teams goal defenders IF the defenders cant throw it to anyone else. They have to be ready to take the throw ins out side the circle or the free passes when they are in there goal third. The C is allowed everywhere but in the goal circles, WA (Wing Attack): The WA's main job is to get the center pass from their teams C. They have to try to get away from their player when their team has the ball but they also have to be able to switch to 'defence mode' when the other team has the ball in there goal third and the center third. When they are like this, they have to stick to their player like glue. They have to make it hard to get the ball out of your goal third. They have to be avalable at the goal circle for the goalers to throw the ball to them if they are too far away from the net to take the shot. They are able to go in the center third, your teams goal third but not in the goal circle. GA (Goal Attack): The GA's main job is to score goals. They also have to be avalable to take the center pass if the WA is not able to get it. They have to be able to get away from there player which is the GD. They should never pick up the free passes or the throwins unless they are inside the goal circle. They should always leave the free passes to the WA or C much as possible. They have to try to get the rebounds when them or the GS misses a goal and they have to try to stop te other team from getting those rebounds. They are allowed to go in the center third, their goal third and the goal circle GS (Goal Shooter): The GS's job is much the same as the GA's job - the main aim is to shoot goals. The have to try to get away from there player which is the GK. They also have to try to get the rebounds when the GA or them self misses the shot. They are allowed to go in their goal third and the goal circle, but no where else. This is the basic information. Hope this helps :)
